At Witty's Lagoon, an estuary on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, stop in at the nature center to check out the interpretive displays and get information about the area, including hiking trails and directions. Take the 1.1km trail to the sand and pebble beach and enjoy the birds, giant trees, Sitting Lady Falls, ocean views and the lush rainforest along the way. Public washrooms and picnic tables are available at the beach itself. The low tide also makes Witty's Lagoon an excellent place for skim boarding.
