Wilson Bay Park
Jacksonville, North Carolina, United States
Wilson Bay Park is part of Sturgeon City's massive restoration program. In 1998 the city decided to invest in a environmentally friendly, modern land application plant. For 40 years prior to this this, Jacksonville had simply discharged treated wastewater in Wilson Bay. The former plant was turned into an environmental education center and is used as the head quarters for the City's water quality initiatives.
Amenities at this award winning park include: playgrounds, picnic areas, basketball courts, and restrooms, board walk and pier.
