Will Rogers State Beach at Pulga Canyon
Los Angeles, California, United States

The beach is named after the actor Will Rogers, known for his tagline, "I never met a man I didn't like." In the 1920s, Rogers bought the land and developed a ranch along the coast. He owned 186 acres along the coast in what is now Pacific Palisades. Rogers died in a plane crash in 1935, when his widow, Betty, died in 1944, the ranch became a state park. The beach extends one and three quarters miles along the coast. It has many facilities, including volleyball courts, gymnastic equipment, restrooms, a playground, and a bike path. Surf is gentle and perfect for swimmers and beginning surfers. You can also paddle board and there is a launch ramp for kayakers. There are ample paid parking lots and limited on street parking. It is located next to the original world famous Gladstone’s restaurant. The western/northern most point begins at the intersection Porto Marina and PCH and extends east/south to just west of the intersection Chautauqua Boulevard and PCH.
