West Meadow Beach
Brookhaven, New York, United States

West Meadow Beach, a local treasure for North Brookhaven locals, is located in East Setauket and operated by the Town of Brookhaven. It is a natural beauty located on the Long Island Sound and is open to residents only. This beach is bordered by marshland that attracts numerous species of birds including the Piping Plover. It is a great place for kids as the water is not too choppy. Enjoy the long walking trails, kayaking in the salt marshes, fishing, jet skiing, sailing, waterskiing, picnicking, the endless sand flats at low tide, and the best sunsets on the Sound. The beach used to be filled with private cottages but only a few remain today. Residents must buy a seasonal beach pass parking sticker, and non-locals have to pay the $20 daily parking fee. Restrooms are available. No alcohol, fires, pets, or smoking permitted. This is a Tier II beach.
