The Waikawa Marina is one of New Zealand's larges marinas and South Island tourist attractions. There are 2 public boat ramps and beautiful walkways that connect to the beach. There are plans to expand on the marina using sustainable development techniques.

Waikawa is a suburb of Picton in the inner Queen Charlotte Sound/Totaranui. A reserve and playground area adjacent to the sheltered waters of Waikawa Bay Beach are a great place for families to spend a sunny summer afternoon. With little or no wave action and current the bay is a safe swimming spot for all ages.
