People can visit Turner’s Creek Park a short distance from the landing where there are picnic tables, a pavilion, and grill area. Turner’s Creek is a very popular location for fishing, exploring the lotus blooms, boating, and hiking in the Sassafras Natural Resource Management Area. Swimming is not allowed at the landing but there are beaches accessible by boat and kayak close to the site. The grain building at the landing once provided wheat for George Washington’s Army at Valley Forge and was ransacked by the British in the War of 1812. There is a portable toilet at the landing.
