Tolaga Bay end of Wharf Rd
Tolaga Bay, Gisborne, New Zealand
This part of the beach is popular with swimming and fishing but the most common activity is boating. The Tolaga Bay Wharf was built in the early 1900s. At over 660 metres it is the longest wharf in New Zealand. The beach is patrolled during the summer months by the Tolaga Bay Surf Life Saving Club / Uawa Tiaki Ta, between the flags. A freedom campground is located at the north end of the beach.
A popular safe swimming and fishing beach, with adequate facilities for boat launching. The water quality at this site is monitored during the summer months.
