Tokerau Beach at Melissa Road
Karikari Peninsula, Northland, New Zealand
Tokerau Beach is the longest beach on the Karikari Peninsula, with sand stretching for 18km along Doutbless Bay. The beach is a popular location for swimming, snorkelling, diving, fishing, clamming, kayaking and boating.
Doubtless Bay is thought to be one of the first landing locations for Europeans. In 1769 the English and French surveyed the area at the same time, unaware of the presence of the other.
