Located off one of the most popular walking and biking trails in the High Country, Railroad Grade Road, you will find a 5 acre island in the middle of the New River in the quaint town of Todd, near Boone NC in Ashe County. There is a 1 mile hike around the perimeter as well as channel fishing, birding and wildlife watching. There is a bidge over the New River from the parking lot. Half mile stretch of delayed harvest trout stream classified as Mountain Heritage Trout Waters. Popular tubing and canoe section. Located near popular area outfitters. Park is downstream from River Girl Fishing Co. and directly across the river from Riverkeeper supporter River and Earth Adventures. Island is half a mile long with a fishable channel on each side of it.
