Terwillegar Park is a popular off-leash dog park located in Southwest Edmonton in the North Saskatchewan River Valley. The river access point is located about 350m from the parking lot. This is one of Edmonton’s major hubs for water recreation. It is the launch point for open water swimming groups and offers a hand launch for canoes and kayaks. On warm days dogs and their owners cool off in the river. The beach area has pockets of sand as well as a gravel bar that is often exposed late in the summer season. This quiet riverfront park is enjoyed by many Edmontonians as one of the most accessible places to dip your toes (or jump right into) the water.
