This city owned and maintained beach offers about an acre of access to the Gulf of Mexico’s sand and surf. The area is located along the Island’s midsection, at the south end of Tarpon Bay Road. Leashed pets are allowed. The east to west configuration of the island allows gulf currents to deposit a multitude of shells, making the area a popular beachcombing site. Handicap accessible parking is free and available in the Trot lot. Onsite amenities include bike racks, outside showers, restrooms and approximately 75 parking spaces. Beach operates 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., year-round. Parking fees apply. For beach wheelchairs, please contact the City of Sanibel’s Police Department at 239-472-3111.
