The Swannanoa River is an important tributary to the French Broad River that is frequently used for recreation. The river originates above Black Mountain, North Carolina and flows through Swannanoa and the historic Biltmore Village and Biltmore Estate before entering the French Broad River. Charles D. Owen Park is one of the most popular recreational areas along the river, as many students and members of the public swim, hike, and fish along the trail.
