Surfers Beach
Half Moon Bay, California, United States

Surfers Beach is located off of Cabrillo Highway (Highway 1) and overlooks Half Moon Bay. It is a friendly beach that's great for kids, dogs, beachgoers and surfers. It's not a huge beach, but it's fairly open, not too crowded and very clean. Many people park on the shoulder of Highway 1 and play a true life game of Frogger to make their way to the beach. Parking is free there, but beach access is a little inconvenient as there is a steep hill from the road down to the sand. If you are a new surfer beware of the beach break, as there are several rock formations that will really ding up your surfboard. This is a lovely spot to check out whether you just want some beach life, a picnic, or some photo ops. No beach amenities nearby.
