St. Mary is the largest lake on Saltspring Island. This lake is used for domestic consumption as well for swimming, fishing, and recreational boating. There are a number of commercial lakeshore resorts and several farms. Operation of gas-powered motorboats and float planes are prohibited. There are good spots for swimming on the North End Road and Tripp Road.
