Spectacle Lake Provincial Park
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
BEACH INFO:
Spectacle Lake Provincial Park is located to the northwest of Victoria and this park features a harmony of mature forests, a beautiful lake and wetlands. Although there aren't any life guards on duty, this is a popular swimming spot for locals and there are lots of anglers fishing for cutthroat or Eastern Brook trout (in fact, this is the only park on the island that you can catch a Eastern Brook trout!) Cutthroat trouts are stocked regularly. There is a small boat launch for those with canoes or kayaks as well. However, if water sports aren't your cup of tea, there is a hiking trail that surrounds this lake and there is also a picnic area not too far from the parking lot.
