Southold Beach
Southold, New York, United States

Southold Town Beach is one of the more popular spots to soak up the rays in the summertime because of its incredible view of the Long Island Sound and accessibility of the public beach from Route 48. Come for an afternoon of fishing, kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, or picnicking. The park features 960 feet of sound-front beach, a sandy playground area, restrooms, a picnic pavillion, and a wooden swing. Hours are dawn to 10pm. There are two lifeguards on duty from June 28-September 1, 11am-5pm. Parking is $6 per year for residents and $25 daily for non-residents. The beach is handicap accessible. No alcohol, fires, pets, or cars on the beach allowed. Whale Rock (a rock that looks like a whale) juts out from the Long Island Sound near this beach. This is a Tier III beach.
