Shadow Cliffs Lake - South

Situated in the Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area in California, Shadow Cliffs fresh water Beach offers a bathhouse and refreshment stand as was home to the Rapids Waterslide attraction (closed in 2012) and is open daily during the summer and on weekends during the fall and spring seasons. Lifeguards patrol the beach areas during the summer, although swimming is still permitted during unsupervised times at designated areas. Parking and Picnic grounds are in large quantity and the majority of the park is equipped to accommodate disabled individuals both on the beach and in the park. Shadow Cliffs was formerly a gravel quarry until it was donated to the Park District by Kaiser industries and opened as an outdoor recreational park in 1971.
Water quality is tested weekly from April to October and twice a month from November to March.
