Schoonmaker Beach is nestled within Schoonmaker marina on Richardson Bay. This bay connects to the San Francisco Bay as well as the Pacific Ocean. This 2.3 acre white-sand, salt water beach is sheltered by the Schoonmaker Marina thus the water is calm and shallow, perfect for families with little kids. This beach has a beautiful view of Mount Tamalpals and for all those boat lovers, there are plenty of prestigious yachts to gaze at. Schoonmaker Beach provides some amenities such as water, restrooms and free parking. Due to the calm, shallow water this is a very popular launch point for kayakers and paddle boarders. This beach is located only 1.7 miles (2.7 km) from Schoonmaker Point which is a low lying landform protruding into the San Francisco Bay.
