Sasquatch Provincial Park - Deer Lake - Lakeside Dock
Fraser Valley B, British Columbia, Canada

BEACH INFO:
Sasquatch Provincial Park is characterized by a series of pocket lakes, a unique second-growth and birch forest, and scenic mountain ridges.
Hicks and Deer Lakes are ideal for motor-boating and canoeing while Trout Lake provides a tranquil fishing experience. Visitors can also enjoy camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, and picnicking. Swimmers may be affected by swimmer's itch during the summer – swimmers should dry off as soon as they leave the water.
Swimmer's itch, also called cercarial dermatitis, appears as a skin rash caused by an allergic reaction to certain naturally occurring microscopic parasites that infect some birds and mammals. These parasites are released from infected snails into fresh and salt water (such as lakes, ponds, and oceans).
The most important thing to do to prevent the itch is to rub down very briskly right after leaving the water. This can crush the organisms before they can penetrate the skin. Showering shortly after leaving the water also should help. For information please to go to:
