Salter Path (C6)
Salter Path, North Carolina, United States

Salter's Path is lined with sandy, beautiful ocean front beaches. This access point is located 1/2 mile west of mile marker 10 between Emerald Isle and Pine Knolls Shore. Recent studies have shown that Salters Path provided refuge for the pirate Blackbeard on multiple occasions. The area was named after a famed fisherman named Tom Salter. He would anchor his boat on the sound and walk over to the ocean front to fish. The area he walked is now referred to as Salters Path. The area is now enjoyed by beach goers and is an ideal swimming, fishing, shrimping, windsurfing, kayaking spot.
