Rogers Avenue and the beach were named after Phillip Rogers, an Irish settler to the Rogers Park area. The beach offers a great opportunity to enjoy the Chicago summers and participate in some swimming. There is long distance swimming available running parallel to the shore. The parking at the beach is limited to street parking.
