Rice
Beverly, Massachusetts, United States
Rice’s Beach is a private beach located at the end of Ober Street. The public can use the right-of-way over the sandy beach to access the ocean for swimming and launching a boat. There is no lifeguard on duty, so swimming is at your own risk. No designated parking exists for the area and the beach does not have a boardwalk or pathway. The beach gets its name from Nehemiah and Josephine Rice who were leather and hide dealers originally from Portland, Maine. They owned a large estate on Ober Street in the early 20th century.
