Rathtrevor Beach (Northwest)
Parksville, British Columbia, Canada

Parksville's Rathtrevor Beach is a great spot for summer fun. The park was originally inhabited by the Rath family in 1886, when they built a homestead and operated a farm. Eventually the farm was transformed into a campground (which is operated year-round) and has been the site of an ever-popular recreation area.
At low tide the water draws back almost a kilometrer revealing a broad sandy shoreline. When the water advances back over the sand, people of all ages enjoy swimming in the warm temperatures. The beach offers a pleasurable atmosphere for individuals and families alike.
In the day-use areas, picnic tables and shelters, a playground, change room facilities and toilet facilities can be found and the nearest boat launch is located 8kms away at French Creek Marina. Kayaks and canoes can be easily launched from the beach.
