Punakitere River
Waima, Northland, New Zealand
The Punakitere River is a tributary of the Waima River, though the Punakitere is longer measuring 43 km in length. It has a small population of rainbow trout in it's upper reaches. The heavy bank cover makes fly fishing difficult but spin fishing has held successful results.
