East End Beach is Portland's only public beach so it's a popular place during the summer. There is lots of space for swimming, sunbathing, and launching kayaks or canoes at this sand and pebble beach. Watch the sailboats on Casco Bay. Amenities at the beach include restrooms and change areas, and picnic tables. Dogs are only permitted during the off season. The Portland Trails system is easily accessible from East End Beach.
