The East Beach in Port Jefferson is a narrow strip of beach located in the Town of Brookhaven. Because of storms that severely eroded the beachhead, the town has closed off much of the shoreline to visitors. Although, residents can still enjoy access to the Long Island Sound, but with much less beach area. Amenities include a swing set, and nature trails. Visitors are welcome to bring along or rent out some kayaks, and canoes, two common activities done on the Long Island Sound. This is a Tier II beach.
