In honor of the Hernando County native, citrus grower, banker and political appointee, Pine Island Park is also referred to as Alfred McKethan Park. The 3-acre park is located on the Gulf of Mexico. The facilities are handicap accessible. The park operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Parking fees and fishing regulations/licenses may apply. Pets are not allowed. No lifeguards on duty. Onsite amenities include a beach, swimming area, picnic tables, pavilions, barbecue grills, an observation point, volleyball court, playground, restrooms, showers and a concession stand.
