The Kayak Launch at Pier 96 is in the vicinity of New York City combined sewer overflows (CSOs).

At Pier 96, you will find many kayaking options including Walk up Kayaking, introductory classes, and public trips. There are lockers available (bring your own lock) as well as changerooms, and a shower and hose for rinsing off.

Hudson Riverkeeper has sampled at this location since 2008 from May through October. Monthly testing is not frequent enough to make a safe swimming determination. Riverkeeper is advocating for high frequency testing and data reporting along the Hudson River wherever the public swims, boats and fishes.
