Getting its name from the spanish word for "fishing place", Pescadero State Beach is
located 15 miles south of Half Moon Bay, California. It features a mile-long shoreline with
many rocky cliffs, tide pools and fishing spots. The Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve,
located across the highway from the beach, is home to a diverse range of wildlife and is
a popular destination among bird watchers. There are many activities available at
Pescadero State Beach including swimming, surfing, fishing, hiking and nature exploring.
There are three metered parking lots available along the western side of Highway 1, each
with its own restroom and beach access. Free guided walking tours are offered on the
first and third Sunday of every month, weather permitting, from the Central Parking lot.
Dogs and fires are prohibited at all times.
