Peggotty beach is a half-mile beach of coarse packed sand located on the ocean near Kent Street Marshes. It is a very popular beach for families and friends for swimming and sunbathing. The water is protected which makes it a safe place to swim or wade. Amenities include lifeguards and porta-potties. Parking is only available for residents with stickers. However, downtown Scituate harbor, with shops, restaurants, and a hotel, is located within walking distance.
