BEACH INFO:

Paddlewheel is a private beach owned by the Okanagan Landing & District Community Association. This beach is open to the public and has a playpark; it is family-oriented.

Waters are shallowest in this part of Okanagan Lake and susceptible to contamination from occasional sewage discharges and nutrient loading from runoff. Historically, this part of the lake has had high nitrogen and phosphorus levels, which can result in ‘blooms’ of algae and proliferation of bacteria. Until current monitoring results are available, caution is advised in using these beaches—if the water is unclear or smells bad, it may not be safe to swim. Use of treated municipal or well water for drinking and cooking is advised.
