Pacifica State Beach is a beautiful, wide, crescent-shaped beach that marks the northern gateway to the coastline stretching south of San Francisco. It is located off of Highway 1 in downtown Pacifica. The weather can be fickle and windy so layered clothing is recommended. Lots of great shopping, restaurants, and accommodations nearby. There is even a Taco Bell right on the beach, and the views of the Pacific Ocean are stunning. It is very clean and the sand is smooth and white. It's family-friendly and a popular spot for surfers. There is a large parking lot located here with plenty of public parking. Hours are 5am to 10:30pm during summer months. It offers restrooms, showers, and a recreation trail along the ocean. Dogs must be leashed at all times and owners must clean up after their dogs. No smoking allowed on the beach, in the lot, or in the restrooms. No alcohol, glass containers, fires, barbeque grills, venders or commercial business allowed. Groups of 50 or more must obtain a beach event permit.
