The central beach area is located along the very popular Old Orchard Beach, a 7-mile long sandy beach. It's a great place for swimming and sunbathing, but you will also find people bodysurfing, playing volleyball, kayaking, jetskiiing, and just strolling along the waterfront. The beach is located in the summer resort town of the same name. There are many attractions (including amusement rides and arcades), restaurants, food stands, shops, and hotels. There are both public and private parking lots located throughout town and you will find restrooms on West Grand Avenue. There are lifeguards on duty.
