Ohau River at Kirkcaldies Reserve
Ohau, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand
Kirkcaldies Reserve is a triangular shaped reserve adjacent to the Kirkcaldies Bridge and is managed by Horowhenua District Council. Kirkcaldies is a great place to park the car up and have a picnic before taking a dip in the Ohau River. Water quality is generally good, however, rainfall events can cause runoff from farmland upstream and cause short term drops in water quality. As with all swim spots, it is recommended to wait three days after rainfall, and swim when the water is clear.
