Noyac: Circle Beach
Sag Harbor, New York, United States
In the summer, Circle Beach is filled with families gathered under beach umbrellas while their children play by the rocky shores or wade into the bay (which at low tide is especially shallow for many yards), but it never feels crowded. Circle Beach has always been a place where locals come for gently spectacular sunsets. There are mostly stand-up paddle boarders at Circle Beach, a few swimmers (a sign warns NO SWIMMING IN UNPROTECTED PLACES; there is no lifeguard at Circle Beach), and some enjoy walking up to the osprey nest on a path that cuts through beach-grass-covered dunes. Circle Beach is a nesting site for endangered Piping Plovers, so please be respectful if you see areas of the beach roped off.
