Nicholas Canyon County Beach
Malibu, California, United States
Also known as “Zeros” by the local surfers, due to the shape of the waves, it is considered one of the few beaches with a perfect left point breaks in Los Angeles County. Other popular activities include body boarding, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and picnicking. There is a rocky reef and kelp bed about 200 yards from shore that is great for scuba diving. It is purportedly the beach that inspired the opening scene in the movie “Point Break”. Facilities include large self pay parking lot with over 100 spaces, handicapped parking in the main lot and in a lower lot, portable restrooms, daily lifeguards, and picnic areas. It is located at 33850 Pacific Coast Highway (the parking lot is located at 33904 Pacific Coast Highway). Next door is also the Wishtoyo Foundation's Chumash Discovery Village, an authentic re-creation of a working Native American village, open by appointment.
