Plentiful public beach access points and accompanied parking can be found along the Nags Head oceanfront. The ocean front beach stretches for the entire island. This public access point is directly across from Jockey's Ridge State Park, the tallest natural sand dune system in the eastern United States.
Leashed dogs are permitted on beaches year round. Beach bonfires are regulated by permit and camping is permitted only in designated campground areas.
