Morehead City's public access points on Shackleford Street provides visitors a spectacular view of Bogue Sound on a concrete walkway. The access point a little further east at 13th street also has a board walk and dock. Amenities at Shevans Park (a couple minutes north) include a gazebo, playground, sheltered picnic area, grills, restrooms and tennis courts.
