Mission Bay Beach
Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand

Mission Bay received its name from the Melanesian Mission, an Anglican Communion who built schools and churches in the area. The Walsh brothers built an aviation school here after WWI. They used the bay as a landing area for seaplanes. The bay is now home to a sandy public beach and 3 bronze sea monster fountains that send water up to 12 meters high. The beach has ample parking and public transit bus stops moments away.
Mission Bay Reserve connects to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park which is named after New Zealand's most popular Prime Minister. Orakei Domain is on the opposite side of the memorial park.
