A great beach for picnics, beachcombing and fishing, Mad River County Park Beach features an open sandy beach and trails through the dunes to the mouth of the Mad River.  Perfect for a long walk on the beach or hike around in the secret world of dunes, which offer great shelter on windy days.   A mile or two inland is a boat ramp into the Mad River.  The river here is tidally influenced, but is deep enough for paddling canoes and kayaks even at low tide.
