The County obtained the 5 acres along the Gulf of Mexico on Estero Island in 1949. At the time, it offered a wooden fishing pier established in the 1930's. The current concrete T-shaped pier was constructed in the 1970's. In 1981, the park was dedication to Deputy Lynn Hall who perished as a result of his service. Storms have affected the park area. Rejuvenation projects and repairs are made to provide the public with beach access while promoting coastal habitat environmental health. Located near Matanzas Pass Bridge, the nearby areas offers shopping, dining and downtown's "Times Square." Operating hours are dawn to dusk, year-round. Onsite beach amenities include the fishing pier with a bait shop, picnic shelters with grills, freshwater outdoor showers and restrooms. Parking fees apply. Fishing regulations/licenses may apply.
