Long Point State Park is a 360-acre state park, located on a short peninsula on the east side of the Lake Chautauqua. The guarded beach is normally available mid-June to Labor Day weekend. Picnic tables and grills are available for use. The park has several miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking.
Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash. Proof of rabies vaccination via veterinarian certificate must be available on request (collar tag will not be accepted as proof). Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, or on the beach.
The park was formed from two gifts of former estates on Chautauqua Lake. The first estate was donated to New York State in 1956 by Mr. and Mrs. John W. Minturn. The park was expanded several years later with the gift of the summer estate of Bainbridge Colby, former United States Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson.
