This popular long stretch of beach is located at the mouth of Tomales Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Lawson's Landing was first established in 1929 by Howard Lawson and offers an array of activities and services. Individuals are able to participate in fishing, clamming, kayaking, biking, hiking, camping and bird watching. Lawson's Landing is part of Dillon Beach which was settled by George Dillon in 1858. Dillon Beach is a salt water beach which is perfect for surfing, beach walking and is very dog friendly. There are cafes and a general store nearby and the beach is quite popular on the weekends. About 1.5 miles (2.4 km) North of Dillon Beach there is a protected area called Estero de San Antonio State Marine Recreational Management Area which helps to conserve ocean wildlife and marine ecosystems.
