Lake Whangape
Churchill, Waikato, New Zealand
Lake Whangape is a shallow lake in a mostly pastoral catchment. The depth means wind influenced waves will continuously lift sediment from the bottom and keep it suspended in the water column. Sediment suspension is compounded by an infestation of pest fish who constantly work the lake bottom.
