Lake Ototoa
Woodhill Forest, Auckland, New Zealand
Lake Ototoa is 1.6 x 10 meters square and 26 meters deep. It is one of the deepest and largest sand dune lakes on the North Island. The lake is used extensively for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, exploring and fishing. There has been an infestation of edible perch in the lake so the Fish and Game no longer release trout here.
The lake's perimeter is walkable at when the levels are low, however it does get a bit swampy. There are tracks along the upper ground and the Woodhill forest is a right beside the lake for those who love light tramping.
This lake is monitored for Cyanobacteria only.
