Lake Brunner is located 37km inland from Greymouth. It is the largest lake on the West Coast of the South Island and provides numerous swimming spots, a variety of walking tracks, fishing, boating and good facilities. Moana is the main settlement at Lake Brunner.

The beach here has a swimming pontoon, picnic tables, plenty of parking and a boat ramp. The Rakaitane Track nearby is a lovely 1.2 km track along the Arnold River. The West Coast Regional Council monitors the water quality of this site weekly from November to March.
