Lake Anza South - Tilden Regional Park

Lake Anza is closed for maintenance for the 2022 season.
Named in honor of Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza, Lake Anza is a fresh water, man-made lake created with the building of a small dam in 1938. Water flows into Lake Anza from Wildcat Creek and is located within Tilden Regional Park. This peaceful beach has a great recreational swimming area and offers plenty of amenities such as changing rooms, a snack bar/cafe, toilets and a large parking areas. Swimming is restricted to a certain area along the beach and is open from May to September with lifeguards on duty. Tilden Regional Park is referred to as the “jewel” of the system of East Bay Regional Parks and provides tons of activities for children and families. There are 2 monitoring locations on this beach. Tilden Regional Park is tested for bacterial levels weekly from April to October. The swim area is closed from November through March.
