Lac La Hache Lake
Lac La Hache, British Columbia, Canada

BEACH INFO:
Lac La Hache (Lake of the Axe) was apparently named for a French trader who lost his axe in this lake while ice fishing. There's another version of the story too, according to BritishColumbia.com: "a hapless Hudson's Bay Company mule that fell through the lake ice, taking its loads of hatches with it."
Lac La Hache sports a museum (an old loghouse from the 1930s), Douglas fir and Aspen views, campsites, picnic sites, swimming, and boating. Anglers will enjoy the lake's kakanee and lake trout.
