La Costa Beach
Malibu, California, United States

Harold Ferguson purchased the neighborhood in 1926 for six million dollars and created the La Costa Beach Club (still in operation today) to bring investors to see the plans for the development of the ocean front parcels. The project collapsed, Ferguson went to jail for fraud, but some of the streets he named are still in existence today. La Costa Beach extends from the west end at the intersection Rambla Vista and Pacific Coast Highway to the intersection of Rambla Pacifico and Pacific Coast Highway next to Duke’s restaurant. There is an empty lot between 21746 and 21660 PCH that is intended for public access, but it has been tied up in the court system.
