Named after the Cree legend of "Kinosoo", Kinosoo Beach in the Town of Cold Lake was voted one of Canada's Top 25 Beaches in 2008 by Canadian Geographic Magazine. This is a very popular beach with a vibe similar to that of Sylvan Lake Beach. The soft, sandy beach is long and wide with lots shade in the grassy areas next to the beach. The beach has everything from grassy picnic areas, a great playground, high-end washrooms and a convenient concession stand to easy access from the parking lot. The water is clear and shallow in the marked swimming area which makes the beach popular with families. This is a day use beach only and lots of younger people take advantage of the people watching opportunities. This is a great spot for the family and/or friends. This is easy beach living. The beach and lake were open for the whole of the 2011 bathing season and the lake has historically good water quality testing results. There was a brief fecal contamination advisory posted for the beach in July 2012.
